Dumpster set alight in Keysborough

Two boys lit a potentially dangerous fire in a dumpster at Parkmore shopping centre.

Police say one of the boys set the dumpster’s contents on fire while another kept watch.

Detective Sergeant Shane Pola of Greater Dandenong crime investigation unit said quick thinking by security staff “averted a disaster”. One of the boys was wearing a black cap and blue hoodie. The other wore a dark blue hoodie.

Anyone with information about the incident can call Greater Dandenong CIU on 9767 7444.
