IT took double overtime but Dandenong Rangers men finally snatched a much-needed win with an away victory over Ballarat Miners at Ballarat in the South East Australian Basketball League on Saturday night.
The Rangers won the match 103-101 with Andrew Harms (24 points), Tony Lewis (23 points, 16 rebounds) and Daequon Montreal (23 points, eight rebounds) all playing major roles in the win, which kept the Rangers in the SEABL east conference top four.
While the Rangers got plenty of baskets, they struggled to keep down Miners trio Matt Hanson (26 points), Keena Young (25 points) and Lucas Walker (25 points).
The Rangers women had a less enjoyable trip to Ballarat, losing to Ballarat Rush 75-70 with WNBL star Alice Kunek lighting up the Rangers with 34 points and eight rebounds.
Teenager Lauren Scherf led the Rangers with 18 points and seven rebounds, with Amelia Todhunter adding 17 points and Faith Probst 13.
