Croft stars with ball and bat

A REMARKABLE individual performance by Steven Croft stole the show in the Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association match between Noble Park and Mount Waverley at Noble Park Reserve on Saturday.
After winning the toss and sending Mount Waverley to the crease, the Bulls tore through the batting line-up with an attack headlined by Croft.
Croft (7/36) took the first wicket of the match and kept the pressure on, bowling stump to stump for his entire 17 over spell.
Stranded at 6/36, Mount Waverley was in all sorts of trouble, but Craig Ferguson hit 41 not out and salvaged what was left of the innings.
Croft returned to take the last four wickets and Mount Waverley crumbled to be all out for 114.
In reply, the Bulls’ innings started disastrously, Noble Park losing 2/0 in the first over.
But Croft, this time with bat in hand, blasted 42 not out and the Bulls had scored 4/98 when stumps were called.
The match concludes on Saturday.
