An “erratic” woman jumped into a car in Dandenong and forced the driver to take her to Noble Park.
Police said she got into the passenger seat of the silver Honda Civic near Dandenong Railway Station, about 5am on Wednesday 2 November.
Once the 58-year-old man behind the wheel had met her demand she kicked him out and drove the vehicle to Bunnings on Gladstone Road.
There she allegedly rammed two parked cars before leaving the scene.
Greater Dandenong CIU Senior Constable Riley Wesley said police recovered the car in Pakenham but were still searching for the woman.
She was described as Caucasian and aged in her thirties with brown hair.
