Christmas spirit is putting smiles on faces across Greater Dandenong.
Intrapac’s Somerfield estate in Keysborough hosted Santa, face painting, a jumping castle and more in its pirate park on Sunday 11 December.
Kids received prizes for dressing up in festive garb, and reindeer-shaped gingerbread cookies kept hunger at bay.
Greater Dandenong Council has created a multi-lingual Christmas greetings video to mark the season.
It’s also installed decorations throughout the city, including a nine-metre tall reindeer and Santa in Harmony Square and decorated trees in several suburbs.
Festive steps lead into Dandenong’s Harmony Square from Lonsdale Street, doves of peace adorn Douglas Street in Noble Park, there’s giant holly and presents in Palm Plaza in Dandenong, and a nativity scene in the library windows in Harmony Square.
There’s also a new illuminated installation at Lonsdale and Clow streets, on the O’Brien Real Estate awning, to welcome people into central Dandenong.
Bouncing elves on stilts, Santa’s helpers Horace and Boris, and baubles on roller skates will visit Harmony Square and Lonsdale Street in Dandenong from 9.30am to 11.30am on Tuesday 20, Wednesday 21, Thursday 22 and Friday 23 December.
They’ll spread season’s greetings in Douglas Street, Noble Park, from 1.30pm to 3.30pm on Tuesday 20 and Thursday 22 December, and Multicultural Place in Springvale from 1.30pm to 3.30pm on Wednesday 21 and Friday 23 December.
See the many faces of Dandenong’s Christmas.
