Double the speed limit

Police impounded a probationary driver’s car after allegedly clocking him travelling at 167kmh in Bangholme.
State Highway Patrol members were conducting speed checks on Thompson Road, between Worsley and Rossiter Roads, when they detected a Mazda 3 travelling at more than double the 80km limit at 3.20pm on Thursday 6 April.
They pulled over the 21-year-old Patterson Lakes man.
He’ll be without his car for 30 days and will have to pay $997 for the privilege.
He is expected to be charged on summons with driving at a dangerous speed and exceeding the speed limit.
