Thousands of Afghans filled Dandenong Park to celebrate the Nawroz Festival.
The event on Sunday 25 March marked Afghan New Year and featured performances from dancers and singers.
“It’s the largest outdoor community celebration for the Afghan Australian community in Victoria,” Victorian Afghan Associations Network (VAAN) treasurer Hamed Saberi said.
He expected about 10,000 people to attend.
“Our event signifies the arrival of spring in northern hemisphere,” he said.
