Great day to be Aussie

GREATER Dandenong residents are invited to celebrate Australia Day through a range of events.
Mayor Jim Memeti said the free events on 26 January would be a great way to celebrate the day.
“It offers fun for the whole family and is a great way to come together as a community and celebrate,” he said.
An Australia Day Breakfast will be held at the Springers Leisure Centre, Keysborough and will feature the City of Greater Dandenong Band, a flag raising ceremony, a free sausage sizzle and children’s activities.
This event will run from 9am until 1am. Australia Day Awards will be held at the Drum Theatre, Dandenong at 10.45. After the Greater Dandenong Citizen of the Year, Non-resident of the Year and Young Achiever of the Year are announced, a citizenship ceremony will occur.
The feature event- Australia Day in the Park – will run from 11am until 2.30pm at Dandenong Park, corner of Pultney and Fosters Street, Dandenong.
