THE BODY of a 47-year-old Springvale man was found lying face down in Dandenong Creek, near the Princes Highway, on Tuesday.
Detectives from the Greater Dandenong Crime Investigation Unit and search and rescue police were called in to retrieve the body at 12.30pm.
Detective Sergeant Chris Goldrick told Star the matter was under investigation and a post mortem was likely to be completed this week.
He said police had not found any reason to believe the death was suspicious or that another party had been involved.
Det Sgt Goldrick said police wished to speak to two people who reported the body.
