Revitalisation key for traders

THE revitalisation of Central Dandenong will dominate speeches at February’s Dandenong Retail Traders’ Association (DRTA) general meeting.
The guest speaker at the 7 February meeting will be City of Greater Dandenong economic development unit manager Alison Fitzgerald, who will discuss developments within Central Dandenong.
With the Drum Theatre and Town Hall complex days away from completion, DRTA chairman Roy Aspinall said the inspiring performing arts complex would take centre stage in Ms Fitzgerald’s speech.
Also included in Ms Fitzgerald’s speech will be a progress report on the transformation of Dandenong’s Hemmings Park, Metro Village 3175 and other developments.
Mr Aspinall said Ms Fitzgerald would be joined by council’s festivals and events coordinator Leonie King, who will inform retailers regarding the route the Commonwealth Games Queens Baton Relay will take through Central Dandenong and how retailers can be involved.
Residential amenities manager Peter Shelton will be seeking the input of retailers regarding parking and parking fees in Central Dandenong.
The meeting will be held in the boardroom of the economic development unit, Suite 1, fourth floor, 329 Thomas Street, Dandenong, on the corner of Clow Street.
