Tanja’s art full of inspiration

AN ALBERT Park woman has won Dandenong’s renowned impromptu art competition, Inspired.
Tanja George took first prize at the weekend’s competition at Heritage Hill after she and other artists were given just 40 hours to create an artwork based on the theme of cultural greetings.
Ms George received the $1000 Dandenong Club Award for her sculpture, One World. Inspired is an annual event at Heritage Hill.
Heritage Hill’s public programs and exhibitions officer Angela Costigan said Inspired was an innovative art exhibition celebrating cultural heritage.
“It’s designed to challenge and inspire artists and audiences alike,” Ms Costigan said.
“Timed to coincide with the statewide event Celebrate our Cultural Diversity Week, Inspired features an exhibition of works based on the cultural heritage theme of greetings.”
The works created by all artists will now be placed on exhibit at Heritage Hill for residents to see.
The exhibit is now open and will run until 11 April at Heritage Hill Museum and Historic Gardens, 66 McCrae St, Dandenong.
Heritage Hill is open Wednesdays, Thursdays, Friday, and Sundays from 12pm to 4pm.
