A DANDENONG man was one of five charged with murder last week after a two-month police investigation into the kidnapping and killing of Michael Daou.
Quoc Bui, 24, appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court last Friday over the murder of Mr Daou, 22, whose body was found in the boot of a burnt-out car in Narre Warren North on 18 November last year.
Police said he died from several gun shot wounds to his upper body after he was abducted from Red Court Reserve in Scoresby.
Bui is charged with murder, kidnap and unlawful imprisonment.
Adam Hargrave, 26, of Docklands, Ngoc Bui, 21, of Frankston, Andrew Johnston, 25, of Docklands, and Kevin Ng, 22, from Endeavour Hills were also each charged with murder, kidnap and unlawful imprisonment.
Hargrave is also charged over a range of drug offences.
Hargrave’s father, Mooroolbark resident Garry Charles Hargrave, 51, is charged with kidnap, being an accessory to murder, unlawful imprisonment and drug offences.
The arrests followed a major police operation that involved raids in several suburbs across Melbourne last week.
Police said they seized more than $450,000 cash and $600,000 of drugs during the operation.
Magistrate Peter Mealy remanded all six men in custody to appear in court on 1 June.
