FIRE officers are amazed a woman walked away from a collision between her car and a large truck along Cheltenham Road last Saturday.
CFA photographer Keith Pakenham said Dandenong Country Fire Authority received a pager message at 9.50pm on Saturday alerting them to “persons trapped car versus truck”.
He said a Mitsubishi sedan driven by a woman and a prime mover had collided and the car was pushed sideways for 50 metres before the truck came to a halt.
The woman walked away shaken but unscathed following the collision – much to the amazement of Dandenong fire officers.
“The woman was lucky to not be trapped or crushed and was able to walk away,” Mr Pakenham said.
“The truck driver did a good job of keeping his rig in a straight line and not striking other cars on the roadway at that time.”
