STUDENTS at Minaret College in Springvale have put their talents to good use to help raise money for bushfire victims.
Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) students organised a fundraiser from prep- to Year 12 by selling donated cakes, biscuits and other home-made food. Assistant principal Dr Samir Dorhmi said students, parents and teachers contributed to the success of the fundraiser. “In addition to the sales we have received donations from students, teachers and some parents,” he said.
“We were able to raise $ 5000. As an Islamic school, we feel we are so much part of this community and we wanted to show our sympathy and compassion for those who lost their homes and lives in the worst natural disaster in Australian history.”
