MORE than 5000 people gathered to celebrate the culture and diversity of Holland, at Sandown Park on Saturday, for the annual Holland International Festival.
The popular festival, now in its 35th year, showcases Holland through traditional arts, cuisine and activities.
There were lots of activities for young and old to enjoy throughout the day, with live music and dancing running until midnight.
Member of the organising committee George Vlug said he was very happy with how the day went.
“It’s a great place to catch up with old friends, as well as to meet new people,” he said.
The highlights of the day’s festivities included performances by live bands, amusements for the kids, traditional Dutch games, and the unique opportunity to taste, buy, or take away Dutch delicacies.
“Over the years the crowd has become more mixed and people from other cultures have joined in the celebrations,” Mr Vlug said.
