Detectives probe suspect house and car fires

POLICE are investigating two fires that occurred in Dandenong this month.
The first fire was at a residence on Avril Street, Dandenong North, about 8.45pm on 6 January.
Police said a neighbour called the CFA when they noticed a fire in the front room of the house.
Firefighters managed to extinguish the blaze but the house sustained major damage.
No-one was home at the time of the incident.
The second fire occurred about 3.30am on 8 January.
Police said a stolen Mazda Coupe parked on the wrong side of the road was set alight. Firefighters extinguished the blaze.
