FOUNDER and director of Mogul Real Estate and Finance was a proud winner of a Volunteer Recognition Award 2011 from the City of Greater Dandenong last month.
John Gulzari said he hadbeen volunteering for six years with five different organisations – CFA, Shamama Associationof Australia, Australian Hazara Association, Ahlul BaithAssociation and most recently with the City of Casey’s driving instruction project.
“It was a proud moment (to receive the award) because not a lot of people received it,” Mr Gulzari said.
“Volunteering is about contributing back to the community and helping other people. You have skills so you should share it with other people.”
The award was presented at the Inaugural Volunteer Recognition Awards 2011 ceremony on Thursday 12 May.
As well as his commitment to volunteering, Mr Gulzari’s new business Mogul Real Estate and Finance tries to act as an ambassador for Dandenong to recent migrants and refugees.
“We try to help migrants and refugees, so we are involved as ambassadors,” he said.
“Dandenong is a fantastic place to live and work and grow.”
Mogul Real Estate and Finance is the first owned and managed Afghani real estate agent, and also assists migrants and refugees with applications and finances.
