FUJITSU has lifted the lid on a $60 million upgrade at its Noble Park data centre.
The multi-million dollar investment enhanced security, connectivity and hosting services availability for its 2000 Australian enterprise and government customers.
Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand CEO Mike Foster said the local facility was a key to providing quality services.
“We will continue to invest in ensuring our customers have access to the best possible infrastructure in the region,” he said.
“The Noble Park upgrade is consistent with this strategy – the facility makes a key contribution to Fujitsu’s global data centre capability, which includes over 100 data centres worldwide.”
The Noble Park facility is also one of the most energy efficient data centres of its size in the country.
Technology Minister and South Eastern Metropolitan Region MP Gordon Rich-Phillips visited the facility last Friday to inspect the upgrade.
“As a leader in data centre development and the third largest information and technology company in Australasia, Fujitsu’s decision to further invest here is a testament to Melbourne’s reputation as a dynamic hub for IT,” he said.
“The company’s expanded state-of-the-art IT facilities will provide businesses and government with repaid access to secure hosting services.”
