KEYSBOROUGH was left to lick its wounds after being broken by the Mornington Breakers 93-106.
In one of the highest scoring matches this Big V season, Mornington and Keysborough traded barbs, points and stats rapidly.
Despite a big last quarter, outscoring the Breakers 29-24, Keysborough left too much work to be done from the first three terms and conceded their fourth loss of the season.
Both teams fed it out to the long-shooters as Adam Sliwinski (5/11 3PM) and Alistair Granger (3/8 3PM) hit their shots.
The rock of Keysborough as always was centre Kevin Benn (20 points, 11 rebounds), picking up a crucial double-double, but found himself fouled out after 25 minutes.
Sliwinski (25 points) and Granger (18 points) were also massive scoresheet contributors
Keysborough sits eighth on the Big V ladder with a and faces ladder leaders Pakenham in a must-win encounter for the Cougars.
Tipoff is 5pm on Saturday at Cardinia Life, Pakenham.
