BAA MUST GO, SAYS APPEAL COURT

■ What an absolute disgrace. The City of Greater
Dandenong should be ashamed of themselves. One should not be denied the
right to keep any sort of pet, providing it is causing no harm to
others. There is clearly a strong bond between this man and his sheep.
If more people showed unconditional love, what a better place the world
would be. Please allow this man to keep his friend. I’m behind you, Mr
Ho. Fight until the end.

■ Bureaucracy gone mad! Let this poor
man keep his beloved pet. He has has it for 14 years, so why not another
couple? It’s OK to keep two or three barking dogs, but not one quiet
sheep? Some rules are meant to be bent.

■ I would like to congratulate Mr Ho on
his fight to keep Baa. How many times do we hear of animal cruelty and
neglect? This man is showing that he loves his sheep and would dearly
love to continue to keep Baa. Look at the lengths to which he has gone
to prove that, including the 116-page submission he made to the court.
It would have been easy to give in and walk away but no, he has stuck to
his guns. Back off council, let him keep his sheep.

■ Cannot
understand what all this fuss is about. Let the man keep his beloved
pet; what is the big deal? We had neighbours who had two sheep grazing
on the front lawn. They were excellent lawnmowers and bothered nobody.
Surely the council has more important issues to deal with. Have a heart.

■ I wish I was as gutsy as Mr Ho. Other ammo for the
court could be: why half a hectare? I bet there is no scientific basis
for that figure. And what about chickens, ducks and quail? They are
livestock, too.

■ I think Vu Ho is a great Aussie. He
took a year off paid work to work on this project and I’m sure a lot of
people can sympathise with him. I hope he is able to keep his sheep.

■ The council have gone off and
interfered with people with their roaming dogs but this animal is very
well cared for and protected. Why shouldn’t this man have someone special in his life? I think he’s got a lot of guts to keep it.

YOUR COMMUNITY VOICE: SRI SAMY

■ Thanks Sri, for your great help and
support that you are providing to this community. I’m one of the many
who got help from Sri in my earlier

days in Australia. The support she gave me has helped me to
believe that I’m not lonely here and that I also have people who care
for me..

■ Deepest admiration to you, Sri, for
your wonderful work while you’ve faced your own sadness and setbacks. I
wish the very best for you and your family.
