Big chase ahead for Panthers

The early seaming ball didn't pay dividends for Dandenong and the slip cordon - Tom Donnell and Brett Forsyth (pictured) soon left keeper Rob Hearn alone behind the stumps. 113585 Picture: JARROD POTTER

Premier Cricket – round 15 (week one)

DANDENONG had a painful day at the office – bowling without much luck as Melbourne Uni (8/314) rampaged all over Shepley Oval.
Daniel Hutton (123) proved himself a thorn in the Panthers’ paw as he posted runs up-and-down the order with a number of partners. Captain Jarrod Leggett (55) lived up to his name as he ran through the Dandenong bowlers with aplomb.
Most effective respite from the carnage came from Mick Sweeney (3/29) with Jack Worrell (2/66) also spinning 20 effective and relatively economical overs.
There was little to smile about from Dandenong as it will require its biggest chase of the year to keep in touch with the top eight on the Victorian Premier Cricket ladder.
