A spook-tacular Halloween

Face painting and a crazy cottage jumping castle will feature at Somerfield’s Halloween event. There’ll be prizes on offer for the best dressed ghoul, best monster-dancer and best-looking Halloween-themed pumpkin. Homes in the estate have been asked to display balloons if they welcome trick or treaters.

Battle’s 100th anniversary

Dandenong’s Naval Association of Australia branch and the HMAS Bataan Veterans of Australia Association will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Jutland in 1916. HMAS Cerberus chief officer Captain Stephen Bowater will be the guest speaker. The day will also feature a wreath-laying service, Navy catafalque party and bugler, City of Greater Dandenong Band, service cadets and Scottish pipers.

House of horrors

Halloween will arrive early in Dandenong South with this event for guests aged 15 years and over.

  • The Potters House Christian Church, 216 South Gippsland Highway, Dandenong South. Saturday 29 October, 8pm. Entry is $5.


Family fun at the library

Playing with Lego, chess, puzzles and games together can improve literacy, numeracy, spatial awareness, socially appropriate behaviour and fair play.
A parent or carer must accompany children to this free activity. Sessions are not held during school or public holidays.

Junior indoor netball

Girls and boys aged six to 13 years can give netball a try at this free event.
