Jack drums up support

UNCLE Jack Charles’s one-man show is coming to Dandenong’s Drum Theatre on 15 and 16 May.
Jack Charles V The Crown shines a spotlight on his colourful life and is touring around Australia.
He’s an actor, musician, potter and performer but the 69-year-old has also been homeless, a drug addict, a thief and a regular in Victoria’s prisons.
The respected aboriginal elder pioneered Koori theatre in the early 1970s, founded the first Aboriginal theatre company, Nindethana, was a television regular and starred in movies including The Chant of Jimmie Blacksmith.
Jack Charles V The Crown premiered at the Arts Centre at the Melbourne International Arts Festival in 2010.
The 75 minute show has no interval and is recommended for viewers aged 15 and up because it contains strong language and adult themes.
Call 9771 6666 or visit www.drumtheatre.com.au for tickets.
