Customers to vote for top store

DANDENONG shoppers can again vote for their favourite retailer.
Dandenong Retail Traders’ Association (DRTA) is launching its 2013 Business Awards at its bi-monthly meeting on Tuesday 1 October.
It revamped the awards last year to encompass more retailers and hand voting honours to the public.
The Dandenong Journal will publish voting coupons from 30 September and entries will close on 31 October.
The top five nominees will be notified on 1 November and be invited to attend the DRTA Christmas dinner and annual general meeting at Dandenong Club on 12 November, where the winners will be announced.
Committee for Dandenong chairman Gary Castricum will be the evening’s guest speaker.
“I call on all retailers to encourage their customers to vote and shoppers to support their favourite store,” DRTA chairwoman Glenys Cooper said.
The Central Dandenong Retailer of the Year will receive automatic entry into the Greater Dandenong Chamber of Commerce Premier Regional Business Awards.
DRTA will meet at the Ramada Encore Hotel, 50 McCrae Street, Dandenong, at 6pm on 1 October with guest speaker Deborah Peppard from HR Staff’n’Stuff.
Its mission is to promote retail business in central Dandenong by providing information, networking and access to Federal, State and local government.
