Knife man nabbed

A MAN brandishing a knife has threatened to kill staff at a Springvale South supermarket.
Police said the 26-year-old from Springvale South entered the Heatherton Road Aldi store about 6.10pm on 8 April, selected three bottles of alcohol and tried to walk out without paying.
When staff tried to stop him he lifted up his top, removed a large kitchen knife and said he would kill them.
They wrestled with the man and grabbed his arms, and he dropped the alcohol and ran from the store.
Greater Dandenong CIU detectives identified the man from store security footage and arrested him a short time later. He will face attempted armed robbery charges.
