Mobile food is dropping in

JAMIE Oliver’s Ministry of Food Mobile Kitchen is on its way to Dandenong.
It will stay put for 10 weeks from Wednesday 6 August and deliver an innovative, community-based cooking program built around the celebrity chef’s principles about food and healthy living.
There’ll be two cycles of the five-week cooking course and the hands-on 90-minute classes cover knife skills, shopping and cooking on a budget, food safety and hygiene.
Participants will make eggs, pasta, roasts, burgers, salads and more to take home for family and friends.
A team of dedicated Jamie’s Ministry of Food Trainers will lead the classes at Palm Plaza on Walker Street, adjacent to Dandenong Plaza.
“We know we’ll have a great response from Dandenong residents because our past participants have confirmed that learning to cook from scratch in a fun environment has changed their lives,” Jamie’s Ministry of Food Australia CEO Alicia Peardon.
“By teaching basic cooking skills, Jamie’s Ministry of Food helps people gain confidence in the kitchen, which leads to better food and ultimately better health.”
Classes are $10 per session, $5 concession, and bookings are open at www.jamiesministryoffood.com.
Not-for-profit organisation The Good Foundation has partnered with Jamie Oliver and The Good Guys to deliver Jamie’s Ministry of Food throughout Australia.
Jamie’s Ministry of Food is a practical solution to problems associated with diet-related disease.
Its aim is to inspire people to get back to basics in the kitchen, teach them to cook, and empower them to change the way their families eat and think about food.
