The bridge to aid

By CAM LUCADOU-WELLS

THE Bridge Connects – it’s a new overarching name for disability service provider Options Victoria, which will span across several services.
This month, clients and their families cut a bright office orange ribbon to mark the re-branding at the day-support service in Douglas Street, Noble Park.
The service not only changed its name from Urimbirra, but moved from nearby Callander Road to its more central location.
Chief executive Phillip Toovey said the name change, though replacing well-worn names, would make the not-for-profit service more recognisable and easier to promote.
“All this is important for the emerging new world of the National Disability Insurance Scheme,” he wrote to supporters in a letter this year.
The Bridge will label its employment services, its supported employment workplace and community services in Melbourne’s south-east, including Dandenong and Noble Park.
It will replace a suite of former names such as Paramount Workforce, Paramount Personnel, Urimbirra and Kalimna.
