Ready for revitalising

MORE than a third of Revitalising Central Dandenong precinct land is now developed, under construction or committed for development.
About 65 per cent of the seven hectares of land included in the $290 million State Government project announced in 2006 remains available for private investment.
Places Victoria is delivering the project with City of Greater Dandenong, government agencies and the private sector.
Places Victoria precincts general manager Simon Wilson said key projects that had been completed included the eight-storey Government Services Office, the City of Greater Dandenong’s new municipal building and award-winning public spaces Halpin Way and Settlers Square.
“Key buildings currently underway include the new Australian Taxation Office on Walker Street, which will be home to 850 workers, and the Quest Apartments building under construction by the Pellicano Group,” he said.
“Both developments are due for completion in late 2015.”
Mr Wilson said the Revitalising Central Dandenong initiative had a 15 to 20-year development timeframe and was expected to attract $1.2 billion in private investment over its lifetime.
