Bypass due for overdue clean-up

By CASEY NEILL

A CLEAN-UP is on the cards for a “disgraceful mess” along the Dandenong Bypass.
Keysborough resident David, who did not want his surname published, told the Journal that VicRoads needed to step up to take responsibility for the walking path between Chapel and Perry roads.
“The grass has not been cut in months and daily there is a continuing build-up of rubbish,” he said.
“It is unsightly and breeds an air of neglect and ‘keep away, a dangerous place to walk’.”
A VicRoads spokesman said the road authority’s maintenance team was “aware that the walking path requires some cleaning up”.
“Our team will attend to the walking path in the coming weeks as the weather conditions approve and grass cutting is undertaken across Melbourne’s east,” he said.
