Anderson’s December to remember

By JARROD POTTER

PERSEVERING through numerous set-backs has been a constant thread throughout Larissa Anderson’s basketball coaching career and her first WNBL campaign has been no different.
Her efforts keeping the side moving up the ladder didn’t go unnoticed as the WNBL named her the December Coach of the Month.
With an ever-changing and sometimes constantly growing injury list restricting the Rangers’ roster, it hasn’t stopped Anderson and her brigade storming up the WNBL ladder.
Even with starters Annalise Pickrel, Aimie Clydesdale and Alex Bunton as well as Tenaya Phillips all spending extended time off the court, Anderson still managed to rally the troops and take a 3-2 December record.
From their December fixtures, Dandenong defeated Perth, Canberra and Melbourne at home while battling it out against powerhouse Townsville in a 61-70 loss and another loss to Adelaide on the road.
The gutsy December campaign helped push Dandenong to 11-6 record and fourth spot in the WNBL.
Anderson and the side will return to action on Friday 22 January at home against Adelaide.
