Iron will for charity

Tee up for a good cause in 2017 by signing up for the annual Take a Swing for Charity Golf Day on Monday 27 February.
Now in its eighth year, the charity event has raised more than $300,000 in support of local charities.
This year’s charity is Mirabel Foundation – an organisation that assists children who have been orphaned or abandoned due to parental illicit drug use and are now in the care of extended family.
In the past the golf day has supported Hanover Welfare Services, the Royal District Nursing Service’s Homeless Persons Project, Wallara, Vic Food Relief and, most recently, the State Schools’ Relief Fund.
Greater Dandenong Mayor Jim Memeti said the event thrived on partnerships with local businesses.
“This popular event is always a lot of fun and is a chance for business and industry to come together to network and, more importantly, give back to the community,” Cr Memeti said.
Cr Memeti thanked the event’s major sponsors, including Gold sponsor KPJ Group, Silver sponsor Grenda Corporation and Bronze sponsors Bombardier Transportation, Norden Conversion, Future Metals Recycling, Wadeson IP and Erntec.
As always, the Hole in One prize is being sponsored by Dandenong Nissan and Kia.
The event will tee off on Monday 27 February at 11.30am.
Email sebn@cgd.vic.gov.au to register to play or donate for the after-golf auction.
