Vandals pushed a car into a drain and set it on fire in Noble Park.
Greater Dandenong CIU Detective Senior Constable Kimberley Alp said the CFA attended and extinguished the blaze in the stormwater drain between Paul Street and Cumberland Drive about 6.30am on Tuesday 18 July.
She said the Holden Captiva had been driven to the edge and then pushed into the drain, before being set alight.
It was stolen from a Rowville address in June.
A witness saw two men leaving the scene.
