Police arrested a 35-year-old man over a Dandenong car theft.
Greater Dandenong CIU Senior Constable Liam Comrie said police received reports of men jumping fences into backyards around King George Parade in Dandenong about 2am on Thursday 27 July.
Multiple units attended and patrolled the area, and spotted a stolen Holden Commodore in Alsace Street.
Two men ran from the scene, and police followed on foot.
Sen Const Comrie said they arrested one man, of no fixed address, and charged him with aggravated burglary and motor vehicle theft.
He told police he allegedly stole the Commodore from a Campbell Street, Dandenong, home earlier that night.
Police were unable to locate the other man.
