Crypto cashed-up kids
Dandenong North’s Wooranna Park Primary welcomed HCash CEO Dallas Brooks on Wednesday 15 November to teach students more about cryptocurrencies.
Teacher Kieran Nolan said the school was excited about the possibility of a mentors program between students and the HCash team.
“The students were able to see how a successful Australian blockchain company works, connecting industry and education,” he said.

Online mugging
Sellers and buyers beware – meeting up to exchange goods for cash could turn ugly.
Greater Dandenong CIU Detective Sergeant Craig West said it was “becoming more common” for assaults to occur at exchanges involving online advertisements.

Chamber critic
Councillor Maria Sampey seemed to put aside her recent criticism of the Greater Dandenong Chamber of Commerce to attend the business group’s awards night at Atura Hotel on Wednesday 22 November.
She has sent out a barrage of emails in recent months questioning why the chamber was holding its breakfast events at Sandhurst, in the City of Frankston, and its presentation night in the City of Casey and “not supporting our city”.

Old boys’ club
The Star Journal put in a good effort in a spot of friendly rivalry about the oldest businesses at the Greater Dandenong Chamber of Commerce business awards night.
Star News Group managing director Paul Thomas said the paper was more than 150 years old and part of a 108-year-old family-owned company.
NAB’s Paul Wood edged in front with the bank clocking up 160 years.
“That’s fair dinkum – I had to check the website before,” he said.
Hilton Manufacturing’s Todd Hartley declared he’d come in last place, with about 42 years.
Lifestyle Brands International’s Uri Palti made a late bid for the lead, declaring: “We’ve been here since 1788 … ”

Adding up to the best

The company was in 40th place on the top 100 list released on Tuesday 21 November.
The list said revenue was at $11.59 million and had grown by 13.4 per cent.
RJ now has 10 offices, nine partners and 64 other staff.
