Woman attacked in highway robbery

A woman has been attacked and robbed while out walking mid-afternoon along Princes Highway, Dandenong.

The 38-year-old was walking north near 135 Princes Highway about 4.15pm on Saturday 9 March.

A man has approached her from behind, pushing her in the back and tried to steal her handbag.

As the victim grappled with her handbag, the robber snatched her head scarf and her phone.

He fled by foot along Fifth Avenue, with the victim’s phone in hand.

He was described as Caucasian, aged 25 years, a large build and wearing a black baseball cap, a black hoodie, black trousers and grey shoes.
