Tyre-shop burglars take safe option

Burglars have bludgeoned their way into a tyre shop in Lonsdale Street Dandenong, and then towed out a safe of cash.

Arriving in a silver VZ Commodore, the thieves were initially unable to force open the Bob J TMarts’ front doors about 3am on Monday 6 May.

They left and returned with sledgehammers and hammers to gain access.

After bashing their way through the doors, the burglars attached straps to the safe and towed it out using the Commodore.

Alarms were activated. The intruders fled before police arrived.

Any information to Greater Dandenong CIU on 9767 7487 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or crimestoppersvic.com.au
