Keyed up for Keysborough fest

By CAMERON LUCADOU-WELLS

Keysborough will host its first ‘day out’ festival this month – the Wachter Reserve Day Out will feature market stalls, live music, roving entertainers and a 10-metre rock climbing wall.

The headline act is Melbourne nine-piece band Saskwatch, which combines big band, psychedelic and funk sounds.

Entertainers include gypsy band Vardos, acoustic pop duo Paper Dreams, the Cook Islands Royal Polynesian Dance Team and the El Da Louna Dance Group.

There will also be arts and crafts displays, sports demonstrations and free family entertainment.

The festival is on at Wachter Reserve from 11am-4pm on April 29 and entry is free.

Greater Dandenong mayor Youhorn Chea said Wachter Reserve Day Out promised to be a great day out for the whole family. “Events such as this one are really a celebration of all the wonderful things our city has to offer,” he said.
