Jackpot: Dandenong South lottery syndicate to share $15m prize

By Cameron Lucadou-Wells

EIGHT workers at Jayco’s caravan factory in Dandenong South have struck a windfall of more than $1.8 million each in last week’s Powerball draw.

The winning syndicate split a $15 million prize, which was drawn last Thursday.

The next day, the good news travelled fast among 800 employees at the factory.

“All of the people in this syndicate really deserve the money. They’re all battlers in their own way; some are single parents, some have sick partners, some have disabled children,” the syndicate leader said.

“This money will be truly life-changing for all of us.

“We’re a very close team so it was nice to be able to share the news with everyone at work.”

The syndicate leader said the group had chipped in $5 a week for 10 years before scoring its first big win.

The entry was purchased at Beaconsfield Village Lotto.
