Nominations are now open for the 2017 Greater Dandenong Australia Day Awards.
The awards recognise citizens who make a positive difference to the community.
Greater Dandenong Mayor Heang Tak said the awards were a fantastic way to celebrate the community’s quiet achievers.
“The positive differences these individuals make to our community are worthy of celebration,” he said.
“It is our hope that these awards not only recognise our unsung community heroes but also inspire others to follow in their footsteps.”
Nominations close at 5pm on Wednesday 2 November.
There are awards for the citizen, young leader, volunteer, corporate citizen and sportspersons of the year, leadership and multicultural awards.
A community panel will decide the winners and present the awards during Greater Dandenong Australia Day celebrations on 26 January at Dandenong Park.
Nomination forms and more details are available at www.greaterdandenong.com.
