Learner driver’s licence suspended

A Keysborough learner driver will be off the road for at least 10 months after running a red light in Springvale.
Greater Dandenong Highway Patrol members allegedly watched the 21-year-old woman drive through the intersection about 4.45am on Saturday 19 August and pulled her over.
She produced her learner’s permit, despite displaying P-plates on the vehicle.
Police said an intoxicated P-plate driver was beside her in the front passenger seat and the learner driver returned a positive reading in a preliminary breath test.
Officers took her to Dandenong police station where they allege she returned an evidentiary breath test reading of 0.101 – double the legal limit for a fully licensed driver.
Police immediately suspended the driver’s learner’s permit for 10 months, and she will receive summons to appear in court.
