PASSENGERS of a Dandenong train fled their carriage following threats from a woman wielding a toy gun last Friday.
A police spokeswoman said at 6.20pm last Friday, 28 April, a woman on a city-bound train between Dandenong and Yarraman stations stood up in a carriage containing 30 passengers and threatened commuters to ‘stick them up’ while holding an imitation firearm.
Police said the train stopped for an extended period of time at Yarraman Station to allow passengers to flee the carriage and for transit police to enter and arrest the woman.
The 46-year-old woman, whose place of residence had not been determined, was arrested and taken to Dandenong Police Station for questioning along with a 58-year-old Wonthaggi man believed to be involved in the incident.
Police said the woman has been summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
