GREATER DANDENONG manufacturers were confronted by a radically different method of employee training at a special breakfast last week.
Founder of the Kaizen Institute, Masaaki Imai, spoke at a special breakfast held by South East Melbourne Manufacturers’ Alliance (SEMMA) last Thursday.
The Kaizen technique has been in existence since 1985 and was developed in Japan by Mr Imai.
Objectives of the training technique are aimed at improving employee efficiency.
According to the Kaizen Institute, once implemented, the technique can achieve reduced throughput times, increased frequency of inventory turnover, reduced inventory, extended human capital knowledge base, improved flexibility, reduced manufacturing costs and improved productivity.
