POLICE are investigating the circumstances surrounding a serious collision between a car and a pedestrian in Noble Park on Tuesday.
Springvale Traffic Management Unit arrived at Corrigan Road, Noble Park, to find a 19-year-old woman with life threatening injuries.
Police said they believe the woman was walking along the Corrigan Road footpath approximately 50 metres north of the Allister Road intersection, about 4.50pm when a vehicle travelling north struck her.
The woman was transported to The Alfred hospital in a critical condition.
The vehicle stopped at the scene and the driver is assisting police with their investigation.
Springvale TMU acting Senior Sergeant Mark Denton said yesterday morning, the woman had been removed from the critical injury list but was still suffering with internal injuries and had number of broken bones.
Police are waiting to interview the woman about the collision when she has recovered.
