They’re in the pink

By Lia Bichel
About 100 similarly dressed people attended the fourth annual Pink Ribbon breakfast, hosted by Noble Park Tennis Club members Shirley Bradshaw and Barbara Webb.
That number is up from 85 last year, according to Mrs Bradshaw.
“It just keeps getting better every year,” she said.
“Everyone really enjoys themselves and we feel satisfied after it’s all done knowing we could help out.”
Prizes and money for breakfast foods were donated to the event, so all proceeds from raffle tickets could go directly to the Breast Cancer Foundation.
Four ‘pink roses’ ladies, who had breast cancer or were survivors of breast cancer, spoke to attendees about their personal experiences battling the disease.
Mrs Bradshaw said it was an emotional yet successful day, which raised almost $2000 for the Breast Cancer Foundation.
Mrs Bradshaw has also been raising funds by selling merchandise, such as pink ribbons, bracelets and badges that say ‘real men wear pink.’
She said the event would continue next year, and hoped to see even more people support the cause.
