Macleod named a league all-star

By Jarrod Potter
DANDENONG Rangers point guard Kathleen Macleod capped off a fantastic year by being voted into the Women’s National Basketball League All Star Five.
Macleod returned to the WNBL after two years in Europe and was crucial in helping the Rangers make the finals for the first time since 2007/08.
Despite missing a number of games mid-season due to concussion, Macleod finished second in the league for assists and sixth overall in points per game.
Macleod earned her spot in the 2010/2011 WNBL All Star Five alongside Jenna O’Hea (Bulleen), Marianna Tolo (Canberra), Elizabeth Cambage (Bulleen) and Amy Denson (Sydney Uni).
Voting for the WNBL All Star Five was conducted by the head coach, an assistant and captain from each team.
Macleod was also named in the Australian Opals squad to take on New Zealand in the FIBA Oceania Qualifier from 7-11 September.
