Charges laid after Dandenong man stabbed with broken bottle

A 19-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after a man was repeatedly stabbed with a broken bottle in Dandenong.

Detectives have charged the man, of no fixed address, in relation to a stabbing which occurred in Wilma Avenue on Friday night.

The victim, a 45-year-old Dandenong man, was taken to The Alfred hospital in a serious condition.

The man was arrested in Shepparton.

In addition to the charge of attempted murder, the 19-year-old has been charged with intentionally causing serious injury and recklessly causing serious injury.

He has been remanded to appear before the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Monday.
