A DANDENONG medical centre won’t be allowed to add extra doctors and extend its opening hours.
At their 26 April meeting, Greater Dandenong councillors refused a permit request from the clinic at 56 Stud Road.
Dandenong Superclinic wanted to increase the number of after-hours practitioners operating from 6pm to 10pm Monday to Sunday from three to 10.
The council received 18 objections which raised concerns about the appropriateness of the use, increased traffic and parking, noise, and rubbish.
Councillors found that the proposal did not seek to protect the amenity of nearby residents and was not compatible with nearby residential land use.
