Crowds flock to snowy Springvale

More than 35,000 took to the snow in Springvale’s ever-popular winter festival on 29 July.

Greater Dandenong mayor Youhorn Chea said the sixth annual Springvale Snow Fest once again proved one of the biggest events on the local calendar.

“It is a tourism drawcard for the area, attracting both local families and

visitors from right across Melbourne who are keen to experience a magical winter

wonderland right in the heart of Springvale.”

This year, the council trucked in more than 80 tonnes of real snow – along with husky dogs, ice sculpting, an igloo disco and a fireworks finale.
